The Jerusalem Outreach Center works together with our partners, The Union for Reform Judaism, The World Union for Progressive Judaism and The Israeli Reform Movement to reach out to visiting students and tourists in Israel.

The Jerusalem Outreach Center co-ordinates events for visitors to Israel who would like a Reform experience while they are here.

Shabbat services
We offer tourist friendly, English speaking, prayer services at the Muirstein synagogue of HUC-JIR Jerusalem during peak tourist season. For a full calendar of our services, click here. On the dates that we do not have services you are welcome and encouraged to visit one of the 3 Israeli Reform synagogues in Jerusalem:

Midrash and a Meal at Hebrew University, in co-operation with Hillel This program is open to all visiting students. Once a month, HUC-JIR brings an exciting Reform speaker to the Hebrew University Campus on Mt Scopus in Jerusalem, and provides a delicious meal. Shabbat Meals at HUC-JIR
Every month the Outreach center organizes a Shabbat meal after services that will take place at the Muirstein Synagogue. We will be having meals on the following dates for our Spring semester:

Apr. 21, 2012 (Shabbat Lunch)

Reform Shabbat at Kibbutz Yahel
Every year the Outreach Center organizes a relaxing, enriching and spiritually fulfilling retreat to the Israeli Reform Kibbutz, Yahel. This Shabbaton is aimed at students who are in Israel for the year of the semester. This year, the Shabbaton will take place on March 30th and 31st 2012.
