Professor Barry S. Kogan - Founder
Professor of Jewish Philosophy Rabbi Barry Kogan, Ph.D., was its first director from 1988-1996. During his administration, HUC-UC Ethics Center's activities included national conferences, lectures and symposia, numerous academic publications, as well as courses taught by visiting faculty and faculty from both founding academic institutions. During his tenure, HUC-UC Ethics Center addressed issues such as the AIDS crisis, public education, corporate ethics, and the changing role of the family in society.

Ina Remus
Ina Remus joined the Ethics Center in April 2004. She received her Master of Arts degree in American history from the University of Cincinnati, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hamburg, Germany, where she studied English, History, and Art History. Before joining the Ethics Center staff, Ina Remus worked as a Research Assistant for the American Association of University Professors (University of Cincinnati Chapter) and as Project Historian and grant writer at The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives.
