Joshua Holo, Ph.D.

Director, Louchheim School of Judaic Studies;
Associate Professor of Jewish History
Dr. Holo is an Associate Professor of Jewish History at HUC-JIR/LA, and Director of the Louchheim School of Judaic Studies. Dr. Holo's studies focus on Medieval Jews of the Mediterranean, particularly in the Christian realm. Prior to his role at HUC-JIR, he served as Assistant Professor of Jewish History at Richard S. Dinner Center for Jewish Studies of the Graduate Theological Union, in Berkeley, CA. He is currently finishing up his first book, Byzantine Jewry in the Mediterranean Economy, forthcoming from Cambridge University Press.
