Matt Albert

Dr. Matt Albert is the Regional Director of Admissions and Recruitment at HUC-JIR/LA.
Dr. Albert spent nine years working at Milken Community High School, most recently serving as Assistant Principal. He has taught American Government & Constitutional Law, a Holocaust elective, and an integrated Modern World & Jewish History course. In addition, he helped design a Senior Israel Seminar for graduating seniors.
During his time at Milken, Dr. Albert spent six years as Dean of Students (most recently for the Class of 2004) and three years as Director of Student Life. In the years prior, Dr. Albert lived in New York, San Diego, and Israel, where he spent his time studying, working on kibbutz, teaching, and working for the Jewish National Fund.
Dr. Albert's academic interests are in the field of Educational Leadership, specifically focusing on outdoor and informal education, and he has taught a course on Adolescent Development in the Rhea Hirsch School of Education at HUC-JIR in Los Angeles.
