Mark E. Washofsky
Mark is Associate Professor of Rabbinics at HUC-JIR/Cincinnati, where he was ordained in 1980 and earned a Ph.D. in 1987. He specializes in the literature of the Talmud and Jewish law. Mark is the chair of the CCAR Responsa Committee and his recent publication, Jewish Living, (UAHC Press, 2000) reflects his work with this team. Mark collaborated on Teshuvot for the Nineties (CCAR Press, 1997) with W. Gunther Plaut.

 

Elliot Dorff
Elliot is the Sol & Anne Dorff Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles. He received ordination from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America and has a Ph.D. from Columbia University. As a leading bioethicist in the Conservative Movement, Elliot wrote Matters of Life and Death (Jewish Publication Society, 1998) and served as a member of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 1993 task force on health care.
