Norman Cohen and Adriane Leveen
|
|
|
Norman Cohen and Adriane Leveen taught for
the Joint Commission in December of 2001 - this course, "Confronting
the Other Within the Jewish Tradition," is still available
online in a recorded version.
Through a study of Genesis 16 and 21, the
stories of the tension-filled relationships among Abraham, Sarah,
Hagar and Ishmael, and the interpretation of this material in Pirkei
dRabbi Eliezer, we will analyze these classic texts.
This course guides you through an examination
of this material relevant to our own lives, both from a sociopolitical
and a personal perspective. This course consists of special downloadable
course materials and three recorded presentations. The exact titles
are listed below.
