| Through a financial gift to HUC-JIR and the Kalsman Institute on Judaism and Health, you can make a difference in the lives of our students and Jews in need of health and healing services. Supporting the Kalsman Institute will help build the field of Judaism, health, and healing. Your commitment would help ensure pastoral education for rabbinical
students of HUC Los Angeles. We are raising money for pastoral internships
for students who train in settings where patient care is provided,
and where chaplaincy is an important component of the overall treatment
plans for patients and their families. Each semester, students are
placed in:
- Hospitals
- Homes for the aging
- Hospices
- Congregations
Settings vary from the UCLA Medical Center, to the San Francisco Home
for the Aging; and from congregations that specialize in work with
congregants facing addiction, to hospices that provide palliative end
of life care. Our pastoral internships range between $3,500
and $7,000. Internships
can be named in honor of someone, on a one time basis, or given in
memory of someone; and we always enjoy the opportunity the donor has
of hearing from the student about his or her training experience.
All contributions are tax deductible as provided by law. Gifts are
made payable to
