An Angel Among Us

I was going to write my “usual” weekly serving of library “inside information”. Especially for you, newbies, who have no idea what the library blog is and why you should take time to read it.
But then I read this article in the Jerusalem Post about “the angel of Beer Sheva" – a social work student at Ben Gurion University who is an advocate and an activist for Sudanese refugees in Israel, and I decided to share it with you. I promise to get back to my newsflashes about new & bizarre books and articles next week.

So here it is:
The angel of Beersheba

Despite muddled gov't policy, a young woman is spearheading the struggle to care for Sudanese refugees.

Humor for the start of school

One of my favorite comic strips is Unshelved which focuses on a quirky group of people who work in, or frequent the a library. A recent set of strips focusing on redesigning the library's website had me laughing out loud.
