 Rabbi Jeremy Schneider to Participate in "Religion and Society: A Dialogue" in Egypt and Syria Rabbi Jeremy Schneider, L '06, was accepted to participate in an 11-day study tour to Egypt and Syria focused on learning and understanding Islam. The program is "Religion and Society: A Dialogue" and is hosted by The National Peace Foundation, USA (NPF) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Nominations and applications were accepted from all over the world. Six individuals were accepted, two Jews, two Catholics, and two Protestants. The six participants will travel to Egypt and Syria in June to meet with representatives of important religious institutions, mosques, Islamic centers, and universities, in addition to representatives of civil and community organizations. The NPF/ISNA program is a program focusing on building a dialogue of American Christians, Jews, and Muslims, who are active in religious and cultural work in the United States, with Muslim thinkers, practitioners, writers, and activists from Egypt and Syria. The National Peace Foundation, USA, in partnership with the Islamic Society of North America, are completely independent in planning, organizing and administers the Dialogue Project program. Funding is through a grant from the US State Department's Education and Cultural Affairs Bureau.
