New Rabbis Ordained at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Ordination Ceremony in Cincinnati

Nineteen HUC-JIR students were ordained at Plum Street Temple on Saturday May 31, 2008. Rabbi David Ellenson, Ph.D., President of HUC-JIR, blessed the new rabbis at the Convocation marking the 133rd academic year. Rabbi Naomi Levy, Author and Faculty, Wexner Heritage Foundation and Academy of Jewish Religion in Los Angeles, delivered the Ordination Address.
Fifty-five rabbinical students were ordained this year at HUC-JIR's Ordination ceremonies: 18 in New York (May 4), 18 in Los Angeles (May 18), and 19 in Cincinnati. HUC-JIR's newly ordained rabbis will be joining over 50 congregations throughout the United States and Canada, and a congregation in Auckland, New Zealand.
