A member of Temple B'nai Jeshuran in Short Hills, NJ, Levi has served as President of the synagogue and of its Women's Association. She is a past board member of the local chapter of the American Jewish Committee and is currently the Executive Secretary of The New Jersey Jewish News. Levi dedicates much of her personal time to volunteer work and spent a year working to create and facilitate a marketing and development plan for Daughters of Israel Geriatric Center.

Rabbi Shirley Idelson, Dean of HUC-JIR/New York, said, "Linda Levi's profound understanding of the needs of Reform congregations and of the larger Jewish community will be of great assistance to our campus, as we seek to train the leaders of Reform Judaism and klal Yisrael."

Levi stated, "HUC-JIR is a sacred place where it all begins, a place that creates rabbis, cantors, and educators, whose mission is to perpetuate Reform Judaism. It is an honor to serve the College-Institute and to play a role in this mission."

The Board of Overseers provides support and guidance for the academic and cultural programs of HUC-JIR's New York campus.
