Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion is proud to announce the ordination, investiture, graduate degree, and honorary degree recipients of the Class of 2000. The College-Institute will ordain 45 rabbis (19 men, 26 women) at Ordination Services in Cincinnati and New York and will invest 10 cantors (6 men, 4 women) at Investiture Services in New York. In addition, 38 rabbinical students will receive the degree of Master of Arts in Hebrew Literature/ Letters and 10 students will receive the Master of Sacred Music degree. Ten students will receive graduate degrees - 2 Doctor of Philosophy, 1 Doctor of Hebrew Letters, 5 Master of Philosophy in Hebraic and Cognate Studies, 1 Master of Arts in Judaic Studies, and 1 Master of Arts. Nine students will receive the degree of Master of Arts in Jewish Communal Service. Twelve students will receive education degrees - Joint Masters of Arts in Jewish Communal Service and Jewish Education and Master of Arts in Jewish Education.
