"Sefared In My Heart: Ladino Culture in Texts and Images" is a window into the heritage of a "portable homeland" carried by Jews expelled from Spain, into the Ottoman Empire and other countries: the Spain (Sefared) in their hearts. The exhibit displays rare books, liturgies, music, stamps and pulp fiction articles from the collections of the Klau Library at HUC-JIR, Cincinnati, the Frances-Henry Library, and the private collection of Professor Moshe Lazar, scholar and publisher of Ladino texts, from the University of Southern California. The exhibit reflects the history and culture of Sephardic Jews throughout the world, from their expulsion from Spain in 1492 to modern times.
