Dolores Kosberg Wilkenfeld Inducted onto
HUC-JIR Board of Governors

Rabbi Sheldon Zimmerman, President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, has inducted Dolores Kosberg Wilkenfeld onto the HUC-JIR Board of Governors. A distinguished civic leader of Houston, Texas, Ms. Wilkenfeld recently retired as the President of the International Division of Therapists Unlimited, a national temporary staffing company for therapy personnel.

Among her extensive communal leadership activities, Ms. Wilkenfeld serves as the Secretary and member of the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and immediate Past Chair of the North American Board of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, where he currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Governing Body. She is the Past President of the Women of Reform Judaism and of Congregation Emanu El of Houston. She is currently the Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, where she serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, Planning and Allocations Committee, and Community Relations Committee.

Ms. Wilkenfeld is past President of the Emanu El Sisterhood and of NFTS District #22, Texas-Oklahoma Federation of Temple Sisterhoods. She has served as the Co-producer and hostess of "Voices of Temple Emanu El," a weekly radio program, and as Co-producer and writer for the Temple Emanu El television series. She has served as Vice President of the Jewish Community Center of Houston, President of the St. Joseph Hospital Women's Public Relations Council, Co-founder of the Jewish Hospital Visiting/Chaplaincy Program, Founding member of TIE, the Texas-Israel Agricultural Exchange Program, organized under the aegis of the Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, Board member of the Neighborhood Centers-Day Care Association of Houston/Harris County, and Houston Convener, on behalf of NFTS, of the first Women's Plea for Human Rights for Soviet Jewry in 1971.

Ms. Wilkenfeld attended the University of Texas (1949-51), received the B.A. degree in Speech and Theater from Southern Methodist University (1954), where she was National Intercollegiate Debate Champion, and received the Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education from the University of Houston (1968).
