 Current Exhibits from the Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives at HUC-JIR/Cincinnati AJA Showing at URJ: Social Action in Review In New York, visitors to the offices of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) at 633 Third Avenue can view Social Action in Review–an exhibit project co-sponsored by the URJ and the AJA. The exhibit features a unique collection of documents that highlight just a few of the interesting individuals, groups and organizations that participated in activities of social justice throughout the various eras of American Jewish history. The co-sponsored on-site exhibits at the URJ change annually–typically each spring–to present varying themes in American Jewish history. 350 Years of American Jewish History The lobby exhibit at the AJA–located at HUC-JIR/Cincinnati–provides a compelling look at some of the iconic milestones, people and events that have shaped Jewish life in America over the past 350 years. Drawing from the expansive collections of the AJA, the exhibit features documents, photos, artifacts and film clips that convey the stories of one of America's most dynamic minority communities. Founded in 1875, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion is the nation's oldest institution of higher Jewish education and the academic, spiritual, and professional leadership development center of Reform Judaism. HUC-JIR educates men and women for service to American and world Jewry as rabbis, cantors, educators, and communal service professionals, and offers graduate and post-graduate programs to scholars of all faiths.
