 Rabbi Suzanne Singer Named Coordinator of Leadership Initiatives at HUC-JIR/LA 
Rabbi Suzanne Singer has been named Coordinator of Leadership Initiatives at HUC-JIR/Los Angeles. In announcing her appointment, Dr. Norman Cohen, HUC-JIR Provost, said, "We welcome Rabbi Suzanne Singer, whose work will focus on Social Responsibility and Outreach. She is a part of the exciting work of infusing leadership preparation throughout our curriculum and co-curriculum. Rabbi Singer will help us realize our main task – the training of Jewish professionals as future leaders of our community."
Rabbi Singer currently serves the Los Angeles Jewish community in several capacities: as Director of the Introduction to Judaism Program for the Pacific Southwest Council of the Union for Reform Judaism and as Chair of an interfaith social justice conference slated for November, 2007, in addition to her work at HUC-JIR. Previously, she served at Temple Sinai in Oakland, CA. Prior to becoming a rabbi, she spent several years as a news and public affairs television producer and programming executive, primarily for national public television. As executive producer of the documentary series, POV, she won two national Emmy awards. Rabbi Singer was ordained at HUC-JIR/Los Angeles in 2003, and also received her Masters of Judaic Studies at HUC-JIR, as a student at the College-Institute in Los Angeles and New York.
