Reform Judaism Magazine Sponsors Israeli Artisanal Wine Tasting at HUC-JIR/New York

You are cordially invited to a complimentary tasting at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion of some of the finest wines in the world--and they're kosher, too.

In the 21st century, many kosher wines compete comfortably with the best wines of the world. They've won a host of medals and trophies in the most esteemed wine exhibitions in Europe-three gold medals at consecutive competitions in Bordeaux, and back-to-back gold in England's international wine competition.

Reform Judaism magazine's Spring 2007 edition features the first-ever pullout chart of the "Top 50 Kosher Wines in the World." And you can taste many of these "Top 50" kosher wines at the RJ Wine Guide Launch Event: Thursday, March 15, 2007, 7-9pm, at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, New York. The event will open with a short talk on Wine and Jewish Tradition by Dr. Bruce Ruben, Director of the HUC-JIR School of Sacred Music. A brief Q&A will follow, and then commencement of the tasting of 16 fine red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. In addition, there will be feasts for the eyes and ears: three art exhibitions on view-"Judy Chicago: Jewish Identity," "Cinema Judaica," and "Contemporary Israeli Art"-and live klezmer and jazz by pianist Jayson Rodovsky.
