 My Israel Series, "Nir Barkin: 150 Years of Zionism Through a Family Album" August 19, 1:30pm As a 5th generation Yerushalmi (someone from Jerusalem), Nir will draw from his rich family history and his perspective as a modern Israeli and an HUC Rabbinical student, to lead an experiential seminar through Jerusalem neighborhoods. Join his walking tour beginning in the Christian Quarter of the Old City where Nir's Great-Grandfather had his shoe-shop in the late 19th century. The walk will continue to Zikhron Moshe near the Machane Yehuda market where the family settled down outside the Old City walls in the second decade of the 20th century.
