Deborah Shapiro Named Regional Director of Admissions and Recruitment at HUC-JIR/LA

Shapiro, who received an MA in Jewish Communal Service from HUC-JIR/LA in 2004 and an MPA from USC, began work this week at the Los Angeles Campus as the newly appointed Regional Director of Admissions and Recruitment. Since her graduation from HUC-JIR in 2004, she has worked for Hillel, the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life in Washington, D.C., most recently as the Senior Accreditation Associate and the Senior Associate for Campus Advancement.

Shapiro worked at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles during her graduate studies, and has also worked at the Hillel Foundation of Orange County as a Program Director. She has her BA in Communication, with a minor in Socio-Cultural Linguistics, from UC-Santa Barbara.
