In 1999, he was elected as the first Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom created by a unanimous vote of Congress. His articles have appeared in the Washington Post and the New York Times and his latest book is Jewish Dimensions of Social Justice: Tough Moral Choices of Our Time.

Known as a brilliant research scholar, Dr. Levine is the author of two hundred articles on the most serious illnesses facing humanity. She is a consultant to health departments of nations across the globe, and has been honored by the University of Judaism and Hadassah for her role in reducing human suffering and for her standing as a humanitarian and as a Jew. Dr. Levine is a rare spirit, and a leader in both research and patient care.
