Lunch and Learn Programs - Los Angeles

November 4 - "Queer Policies in Not-for-Profit Organizations (Jewish & non-Jewish)
A panel of Jewish communal professionals will present anecdotal cases that had to do with GLBT policies in their agencies, and/or professional lives. Lunch will be served.

November 11 - "Prayers for Healing from the Jewish Mystical Tradition."
Dr. Eitan Fishbane, Assistant Professor of Jewish Thought, will present textual models of prayer for the healing of the body and the spirit inspired by the language and imagination of the Kabbalah and Hasidism. Lunch will be provided. RSVP to Steven Moskowitz by November 7.

November 11 - Jill Goldwater, Hillel's Director of Human Resources, will be on campus from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
Jill recruits and helps place candidates in Hillel positions around the United States and Canada. She can speak with you about current openings as well as help you make decisions about choosing a career in Hillel. She will be conducting 30 minute informational interviews while she is here. If you are interested in an informational interview time, please let me know by November 7. Make sure to bring your most current resume (even if it is not the final version) to your meeting with Jill. November 18 - "Choices, Options, Decisions: Regarding participation in the Jewish Community"
“Your people will be my people" and “Your people will be my people and your God will be my God” your God will be my children’s God”
Join us for a rare opportunity to meet two women, both active in UAHC congregations who have made different choices, one a Jew-by choice and one raising Jewish children. Hear their stories; ask them questions about their experiences in congregations. Learn what they would like from rabbis, educators and communal service professionals.
